Cost of Lawn Service

Cost of Lawn Service

The average estimation of lawn service can be difficult to calculate because cost varies on the area and market of the country. A couple of factors can give you an idea of the costing. Firstly, price depends on the size of the yard. The bigger your yard, the more you have to pay. Another factor is the type of company you will choose.

Mowing

Companies providing full services have high rates but if you choose the right company they can be quite cheap. Their services include edging, mowing the lawn, debris removal and fertilization. People pay for lawn care services because they want their garden to look beautiful. For this, they call the lawn care companies and ask their estimation. Even in their websites, you can find lawn estimation calculator. Researches show that basic lawn care price ranges from $40 to $70 per week. Lawn Care companies can provide other forms of maintenance usually for an additional charge. You can hire the lawn care services to tend to your garden and make your garden more appealing.

Spring Is Almost Here in Metro Detroit!

It’s March Madness already, aren’t you glad you have time to sit back and watch the final four instead of raking the leaves and picking up sticks? That’s why you hired Total Lawn Care from Troy, so you can spend your weekend at Buffalo Wild Wings instead of in the cold.

Erin Go Bragh! Whoops, what do you mean it’s already the end of March? I haven’t had time to get any of my landscaping services ready for the season! Don’t Worry Total Lawn Care went into to business to handle just such a crisis, while you look forward to Cinco De Mayo, TLC will be out making sure your property is in tip top shape.

Our basic spring cleanup includes the removal of leaves and debris from grass areas and landscape beds, removal of all perennials from the previous fall, lawn cutting, bed edging and grass trimming.

For an even grander revitalization, we can also weed the beds after removing the leaves, trim the shrubs, and add mulch to give the beds a great manicured look.

We can leave the debris for city pickup if you prefer, or take it with us. All the plant material we remove from properties finds a fresh start on life. Leaves are added to a compost process at our shop. Sticks and branches are shredded and then join the leaves. All other plant debris is added to the appropriate composting stage to ensure we recycle every last bit.

We always make sure to recycle all the leaves and debris we remove.

If your lawn is already looking less than stellar, Total Lawn Care can come out and power rake dead thatch to invigorate the grass, aerate to allow important nutrients to get where they need to go, and over seed in areas that just seem to never fill themselves in.

Of course springtime also means turning on the irrigation systems and making sure those heavy plows didn’t break off any heads. It also means the first application of fertilizer in the process of making your grass look like Comerica Park’s.

Pink and Grey Snow Mold Patches

Snow Mold Treatment and FungicidesSnow Mold Fungus is unfortunately a very common occurrence here in Michigan. Often times Snow Mold shows up as either a grey or pink patch in the area where large amounts of snow has melted. Edges of driveways and street curbs are the most common places Snow Mold shows up. Snow Mold is not always easy to diagnose. Some of the tell-tale signs are white areas of turf in which grass blades are dead, bleached, and clumped together. Even though the sight of Snow Mold is a cause for concern, it rarely causes permanent damage. Gray Snow Mold typically damages just the blades of grass, and can generally be combated by a light raking of the area and a spring application of fertilizer. Pink Snow Mold, on the other hand, can invade the roots and crowns of turf and cause more extensive damage to the grass.

Although Snow Mold is a fungi, fungicide applications are generally not recommended for residential lawns except in extreme cases. Spring Fertilizers generally have a concentration of salt, which is healthy for soil and helps remove the fungus. This is the most often used form of treatment, and least chemical intensive.

If you think you may have Snow Mold damage to your lawn, please call us to have one of our Turf Specialists visit your property to diagnose your lawn. Call us at 248-588-1694 info@totallawncareinc.com, or Click Here to use our Online Request to schedule an appointment for a free!

Not sure exactly what to do for your Sprinkler Turn On? Don’t worry, Total Lawn Care can help! Sprinkler Turn On Turn-On
We can even go a step further, and do a thorough water audit. Landscape irrigation auditing is a great tool for lowering your water bills, and maximizing water efficiency. A Sprinkler Audit consists of three main procedures: Initial Site Inspection, Water Measuring, and Irrigation Schedule Adjustment. Each procedure is designed to result in significant water savings, along with making sure the proper amount of irrigation is reaching each individual zone dependent on what type of plant material is getting irrigated. A water audit is performed by laying out catch devices (Often plastic cups are used.) in a grid like pattern throughout the irrigated area. The zone is then turned on, and allowed to run for generally 10 to 15 minutes. The time is recorded, and the water within each cup is measured and recorded. Next we figure out the precipitation rate at which that zone is running. We do this by taking the average amount of water in each cup divided by the number of of cups, multiplied by 60. This gives us a valid “Inches per Hour”, and allows us to see how effectively the system is running. Because different plant material require alternate watering than turf, knowing the Inches per Hour rate will let us know where we can turn down the zones watering to save on water, but still effectively irrigate the zone.
