Retaining Walls and Brick Paver Stones
We all love the look of a nicely landscaped yard. Brick Retaining Walls and Brick Paver Pathways are an excellent way of adding even more elegance to your property! Not only do Brick Retainer Walls help control soil erosion, they also help keep precious mulch from entering your turf. Although Brick Retainer Walls and Pathways are some of the most pleasing and eye catching features of a landscaped yard, they are also one of the most labor intensive to install!

Drainage, and weight of subsoil must always be taken into consideration when creating a retaining wall. Often times, a “Weep Hole”, or a drainage line, must be added to help drainage, and avoid structural problems. If a retainer wall is not installed with proper drainage, especially in an area with previous drainage problems, it can eventually cause the wall to fail.

If you are thinking about designing or installing a brick retaining wall or pathway, please contact us! We have trained experts in Hardscapes and can help you create a retaining wall or patio specific to your landscape that will fit your budget!

Compacted soil creates an inhospitable environment for grass root development. While a layer of thatch is healthy for most yards, sometimes this layer becomes too dense for roots to develop properly. The effects of compaction include a decrease in drainage (permeability), water-holding capacity, and air movement within the soil. After extended periods of compaction, the conditions in poorly aerated soils can reduce mineral nutrient uptake which can impair the growth of tree and plant life. Professional companies use a “Core Aerator” to fix this issue. The core aeration removes plugs of soil, allowing more room for nutrient and gas exchange which can lead to a greener, healthier lawn.
